We are based in Edmonton, Alberta. We build infrastructure for scientific and scholarly communication and help authors at top venues make their research more accessible and expand its reach and impact.
We made three products public: TeX2Vid, Docs2Vid and ScholarReels.
TeX2Vid turns your LaTeX paper into a video in minutes — narrated Research Teasers and Shorts for social media, and Research Highlights and Video Abstracts for conferences and journals, each delivered with the Beamer slides as a PDF, subtitles, and the narration script — and the Highlights and Video Abstracts with the editable Beamer .tex sources too. Every claim gets an independent faithfulness review against the source paper, and you can record the narration in your own voice.
Docs2Vid does the same for papers that are not in LaTeX — upload a PDF, Word or Markdown file, or paste an arXiv link, and it automatically extracts the title, authors and affiliations, the figures with their captions, and the paper’s important sections — abstract, introduction, methods, results, conclusion — then renders the same four narrated formats with every claim checked against your paper, and a downloadable 16:9 PowerPoint deck. On both tools, every paid tier includes the edit studio — editable slides, swappable figures, and narration in your own voice.
ScholarReels is a community index of research video — the scholarly index and repository for high-quality research videos, community-submitted, peer-credentialed, and open access. It accepts Research Shorts, Highlights, and Video Abstracts from any researcher, made with any tool; every video is vouched for — by a machine grounding review or by peer attestation — and a moderator reviews each one before it appears. Who’s Behind SheQAI
Syed Eqbal Alam, Ph.D.
Founder & Lead Scientist
Dr. Syed Eqbal Alam is the Founder and Lead Scientist of SheQAI Research. He leads the development of AI tools for researchers and the underlying agentic AI research that makes them possible — bridging academic research and applied product engineering.
His work spans privacy-preserving AI, distributed optimization, and multi-agent systems, with applications across research communication and industrial monitoring.
Before founding SheQAI, he completed postdoctoral research at the University of Alberta and the University of New Brunswick. He earned a Ph.D. in Information and Systems Engineering from Concordia University (Montreal), co-supervised by professors at Concordia and Imperial College London.
